Every brake caliper respray is carried out at our dedicated studio in Finchampstead, Berkshire, close to Reading and Wokingham. The calipers are thoroughly prepared before being professionally sprayed, decals applied where required and the finished surface protected with a durable high-temperature lacquer.

Whether you want to restore factory calipers, match an existing manufacturer colour or create something completely different, our brake caliper painting and colour change service provides a considerably more refined finish than simply painting over the existing surface.

Most standard brake caliper painting jobs can be completed within one day.

Our Brake Caliper Painting Process

Preparation has a major influence on the quality and durability of any brake caliper paint service.

We do not simply apply colour directly over brake dust, corrosion or an ageing existing finish.

Cleaning and Preparation

The wheels are removed and the calipers are thoroughly cleaned to remove brake dust, road contamination and surface grime.

Loose coatings, corrosion and imperfections are then prepared to create a suitable surface for refinishing.

Where possible, brake pads and associated components are removed or carefully masked to allow better access and avoid unnecessarily painting components that should remain untouched.

The whole vehicle and associated areas then sheeted and masked to avoid overspray.

Professional Spray Finish

Rather than relying on a brush-applied finish, the calipers are professionally sprayed to produce a smoother and more consistent appearance.

Colour is built up in controlled stages before decals are installed where required.

A durable heat resistant lacquer is then applied to protect the finish against heat, brake dust, road grime and normal use.

Final Inspection

Once the lacquer has cured sufficiently, the calipers are inspected before the wheels are refitted.

Why Choose On Track Detailing for Brake Caliper Painting?

Brake caliper painting is a cosmetic service, but the quality of the preparation and finishing still matters.

Our work is completed in-house at our studio near Reading and Wokingham rather than passed to a third party.

We have more than 20 years of hands-on vehicle detailing and cosmetic restoration experience and regularly work on everything from daily-driven cars to BMW M cars, Porsche, Tesla and other performance vehicles, combined with over 150 5 Star Google Reviews.

Our approach includes proper preparation, professional spray application, carefully positioned decals and protective lacquer rather than simply applying colour over the existing finish.

We can also combine the brake caliper painting service with paint correction, ceramic coating, PPF, wheel refurbishment and other detailing work while the vehicle is with us.

Most importantly, the finish can be tailored to the car and your goals.

Sometimes that means bright yellow with custom decals. Sometimes the best option is simply returning a faded factory caliper to the way it should have looked in the first place.

How Much Does Brake Caliper Painting Cost?

Professional brake caliper painting service starts from £299 including VAT for a standard set of four calipers.

This includes preparation of the existing calipers, professional spray application, your chosen colour, suitable decals where required and a durable protective lacquer.

The final brake caliper painting cost can vary depending on the vehicle, the size and condition of the calipers, the finish required and whether specialist or custom decals are needed.

Larger performance braking systems, heavily corroded calipers, complex multi-colour finishes and specialist colour matching may require additional preparation and time.

For most standard cars, we can provide an accurate quotation from a photo, quick phone call or free inspection.

Brake Caliper Decals

The decal can make just as much difference to the finished appearance as the colour itself.

We can install OEM-style brake caliper decals as part of the refinishing process, or create custom decals where something more individual is required.

Depending on the vehicle, this can include manufacturer branding, performance logos or personalised designs. Anything that you can think of, we can do.

Your company logo, favourite football team or even custom text.

The decal is applied and protected beneath the final lacquer rather than simply being stuck onto the finished surface afterwards.

This gives the completed caliper a high quality durable finish that lasts.

OEM and Custom Brake Caliper Colours

Sometimes a dramatic colour change is not the objective.

We also carry out brake caliper restoration for customers who want to retain or recreate a factory appearance.

This is particularly useful where a performance braking package originally had a distinctive manufacturer colour that has faded, chipped or become difficult to clean.

Where possible, we can work from photographs, paint references or existing components to produce a close visual match.

BMW 2NH CCB Gold Brake Calipers

BMW's gold brake calipers are a good example.

We have developed a specialist refinishing process for BMW 2NH / Carbon Ceramic Gold, allowing us to reproduce the characteristic gold appearance extremely closely.

This can be particularly useful where individual calipers have deteriorated, been previously refinished incorrectly or require cosmetic restoration without replacing otherwise serviceable components.

It is also available for customers wanting a BMW-inspired gold finish on other brake calipers.

Brake Caliper and Hub Painting

Where suitable, brake caliper refinishing can also be combined with cosmetic attention to visible wheel hubs.

Rusty or discoloured hubs can remain very noticeable behind open-spoke alloy wheels even after the calipers have been refinished.

Painting or refinishing appropriate hub surfaces can help give the complete wheel and braking area a cleaner appearance.

Care is taken not to coat braking surfaces, wheel mounting faces or other areas where paint would be inappropriate.

How Long Does Brake Caliper Painting Take?

Most standard car brake caliper painting appointments are completed within one to two working days. This depends on the condition of the calipers, any design choice

More involved restoration work, specialist colours or off-car refinishing can require longer.

How Durable Is Professionally Painted Brake Caliper Paint?

Brake calipers operate in a demanding environment.

They are repeatedly exposed to heat, brake dust, water, road salt and strong cleaning chemicals.

For this reason we use suitable automotive coatings and a durable, heat-resistant 2K lacquer system rather than ordinary decorative paint.

The paints we use exceed factory quality for a durable finish.

Our brake caliper refinishing work is currently backed by a 1-year workmanship warranty.
